Gamla: The Masada of the North
Tucked away between the towering cliffs of the Golan Heights is a most odd shaped mountain resembling a camel. Gamla (as in Gamal) is narrow and steep on top and juts out into a peek on one side. The Jewish community that lived there for centuries was founded by a Chashmonai King. It was totally wiped out during the revolt against the Romans that led to the destruction of the Bais HaMikdash.
On our trip you will hear the city’s heroic and tragic tale, and enjoy climbing (if you are up to it) the mountain. As the mountain is situated on the Golan Heights you can also choose a hike along the peeks to watch the eagles “soar”, below you! You can also hike to a beautiful Golan waterfall.
Don’t miss Gamla’s beauty, mystique, and allure! Join us for a unique tour of the Golan.
